Psychological Coaching
Using a mix of experiential techniques, I guide you to a deep understanding of your unwanted patterns.
From there, a full and lasting resolution is possible.
I use the Option Method↓, a process of guided self-discovery, and elements of Coherence Coaching↓. Rather than just manage or counteract symptoms, the aim is to identify and resolve the hidden emotional beliefs that cause unwanted patterns.
My attitude is non-prescriptive and non-judgmental: there is no practical advice-giving and no pressure to change — simply put: no "shoulding". My questions gently guide you to discover the core emotional issues that underlie your patterns.
Most clients report discovering something genuinely new about themselves, even after years of serious self-inquiry, and in some cases achieve lasting emotional shifts.
What I Offer
The Option Method
The Option Method is a form of socratic dialog. That means I mainly ask questions to bring out your deeply held beliefs and question them.
It is laser-focused on one thing: Why are you actually unhappy?
In my experience, following this thread is extremely powerful and versatile. It can go deep fast and it meets you exactly where you are right now.
Some questions I ask will sound unusual or even outlandish. But to break out of our habitual patterns I believe we need to reconsider even our most obvious-sounding ideas.
Coherence Coaching
Coherence Coaching is a methodology based on a neurophysiological process called Memory Reconsolidation (MR).
It has been shown that MR makes it possible to permanently unlearn deeply held emotional beliefs.
A core aspect of Coherence Coaching is the assumption of symptom coherence: (Most) psychological symptoms are necessary and logical once one understands the underlying emotional beliefs that generate them.
As an example: If I believe "whenever I make a mistake, people will hate me", it is logical and necessary for me to be very risk-averse at work. When this emotional learning is successfully unlearned via Memory Reconsolidation, the symptoms will immediately and permanently subside.
